January Dances

Lindy has been teaching two Romanian dances.  Dansul Fetelor din Bilca is the easier one.  It was taught at Mountain Playshop by Christian and Sonia,

Hora Lautereasca is the other Romanian dance that Lindy was teaching this month. The link below is Dunav performing the dance.

Or you could follow the link below to find out more information about the music and some groups that have performed the song.

Bill taught Lissavo which he learned from Kyriakos Moisidis.  Below are the notes for the dance.

Share the Joy! Dance with a child!

Another Day, Another Dance,

Happy Dancing!

Lissavo, Hora Lautereasca

This week Bill taught Lissavo from Goumenissa which is in the central part of Macedonia.  This town has a a folklore museum and is known for producing good wines.

We do the dance a little differently from the following video. The dancers in the video do 2 hops and the version that we do only has one hop.

Lindy taught Hora Lautereasca from Mutenia, Romania.  Below is a video of Dunav performing the dance.  Lindy taught it the same way they perform it.

Speaking of Dunav, did you tune into Yahuda’s broadcast this morning? I didn’t understand the language, but the music spoke to me!

Start the New Year off right and dance with as many children as you can!

Another Day, Another Dance!

Happy Dancing!
